Dr. Zama trained in cardiothoracic and pediatric cardiac surgery at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital. He completed specialized training in cardiac valve and complex cardiac surgery at the University of Paris, Broussais Hospital under the tutelage of world renowned surgeon, Dr. Alain Carpentier. He has been practicing cardiovascular and thoracic surgery for over 35 years. He has been a consultant cardiovascular surgeon at HIC for many years and is instrumental in launching Jamaica’s first private cardiovascular surgery program.
